We are a family of three (Christine, 36, Thomas, 40, Jonas 2) living the rural life close to Munich, the capital of Bavaria. We are always looking for adventures in foreign and nearby places but also like to stay at home and enjoy our beautiful peaceful home while gardening or cooking. We also like to play music instruments or pretend to do so. We like hiking and travelling and meeting people from other countries.

La nostra casa

Our house is a wonderful newly built wood low energy house/passive house with very modern and contemporary features. It is nestled in the small village of Zolling near Freising and is also close to Munich in Bavaria. As it is fully equipped with solar panels and air source heat pump our house is nearly self-sufficient in energy. We live on two floors with a huge living/kitchen area on the ground floor. Upstairs delivers one huge bedroom with a kingsize bed and two additional bed rooms, one used as a children's room and one which can be used as a working space or additional guest room. Our house has two bath rooms and one toilet downstairs. There is a huge parking lot offering the space for 2 cars. Nearby areas to explore are the Hallertau (on our doorstep), Freising (7 minutes), Munich (35 minutes drive) and the Alps (1,5 h drive). We live in a great location in bavaria, where you can enjoy country life as well as city life and you can get a great insight in bavarian historical, cultural and contemporary life.

Our directly neighborhood is very rural and peaceful. Close to our doorstep you can enjoy the world famous bavarian region of the Hallertau. The Hallertau or Holledau is an area which is listed as the largest continuous hop-planting area in the world. Hiking or biking in this idyllic scenery is a must-do during your stay. You can also learn more about beer or brewing by visiting the Weihenstephan brewery in nearby Freising (7 minutes drive with car) or the capital of Bavarian beer: the international well-known charming cosmopolitan city of Munich. You can reach it in just a 35 minutes drive with your car or with an approximately 1 h bus and train ride. It offers a huge amount of cafes, restaurants, museums and parks to stroll around and - of course - the world famous "Oktoberfest" every year in autumn. Mountain lovers also reach in just over 1 hour the alpine footlands, the Ammersee and Starnberger lakes, and a little further on the Alps for skiing in winter and hiking all year round. You can also make day trips to Regensburg, Augsburg, Eichstätt, Landshut or other typical bavarian cities with great history.
